With the plethora of “fly by night” mortgage companies, banks and loan officers that have no minimum company standards of performance, no quality controls, hiring of anyone & everyone, and lack of details in helping the consumer; we choose to be more restrictive and unreceptive to those who operate their business in this manner.  We put this into practice not with lip service but by action outlined below.  We may not be the best fit for some people; we only need a few.

We hire based on a point system, licensing, thorough background check and an interview. 

 

1.)  Point System:

Minimum standards for qualification, earned 40points* cumulative based on the following items:

R     Work Experience                                    

§         Mortgage Business   5points each year in mortgage industry (Ex. LO, UW, Processor, Banker)

§         Related Business      3points each year in related industry (Ex. RE Broker or Sales, Attorney, CPA)

R     Educational Activities        1point per documented credit hour in mortgage-related course

R     Formal Education               5points Associate’s, 10points Bachelor’s, 5points Master’s, 7points Doctorate

R     Professional Certification  5points per industry related professional certification

R     Community Participation    5points per organizational position & participation

*Exceptions to the earned 40 point minimum is strictly on a case by case basis determined by compensating factors such as life experiences in an unrelated field of work.  Military experience a plus (Provide MOS, Military Schools attended, Citations & Commendations and DD214-Type of Military discharge, if applicable).

-No points shall be awarded or accepted by anyone with a criminal background.-

 

2.)  Licensing:

R     Licensed as a Mortgage Broker in the State of Florida or;

R     Actively pursuing Licensing in State of Florida and holder of an equivalent license in another state of the United States or;

R     Actively pursuing Licensing in State of Florida and holder of an equivalent license in another country.

 

3.)  Background Check:

R     Complete resume with references.  Resume must reflect applicant’s history.

R     Credit & Fraud Check to ensure applicant is not delinquent on fiscal or moral responsibility.

 

4.)  Interview:

R     Semi-Formal to Formal Attire Required.  (No Slurpies and Tank-tops.)

R     Be on time

R     Professional Demeanor a plus.

R     Well equipped to explain loan documentation clearly and thoroughly.
